The concept of Big Data for education seems murky, but it is actually elegantly simple. We’ve collected mountains of data for years: course records, student attendance, class rosters, program participation, degree attainment, discipline records, test scores and so on. But while education organizations are good at amassing such a collection of information, most have not unlocked its secrets to improve student outcomes.
