How Many Education Administrators Are in the U.S. Labor Force?

Answer: 697,251 education administrators fill the U.S. labor force.

According to the 2010 Census, less than one percent of U.S. workers serve as education administrators. The estimated labor force is nearly 95 million. Here are some other stats for comparison:

  • Elementary and middle school teachers number 2.2 million
  • Librarians check in at over 105,000
  • Secondary school teachers make up nearly 547,000
  • Postsecondary teachers number 782,000
  • Other teachers and instructors clock in at 346,000
