Answer: So juniors can take the ACT.
Spring Lake Park High School in Minnesota is holding its first electronic learning day while juniors take the ACT test.

Freshmen, sophomores and seniors will stay home to work on assignments online on April 28 through the district's online learning management system, reports ABC Newspapers. They'll spend 20 to 30 minutes on exercises for each class and test out an idea that Spring Lake Park Schools has been mulling throughout the school year.

Most of the students have had school-issued tablets for the last two years, so they're used to working on them for school. For those who don't have the tablets or Internet access at home, they'll be able to use whatever devices they have at home and download what they need beforehand.

The district is also considering electronic learning days for inclement weather next year, but they'll have to see what they learn from this digital learning day first.
