Answer: Southern New Hampshire University President Paul LeBlanc

The president of Southern New Hampshire University will be on a special assignment with the U.S. Education Department until the end of the school year. Paul LeBlanc has been a leader in competency-based education and will work with the department in that area, as well as on different accreditation pathways, the university says

What this means is that someone who has taken his own university down a path of exploration and innovation is advising the Education Department, and can possibly expand this path for other universities. In particular, LeBlanc will work on the department's experimental sites project -- a test bed for ideas on how to decrease the cost of college and increase the quality of student degrees.
