Top university researchers from Mexico will cross the border in an effort to increase collaboration on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) topics.

Mexican researchers have been going to University of Texas at Austin for the past 13 years to study documents and artifacts that the university has collected from Mexico, reports The Texas Tribune. But now, they'll be working together with Texas researchers on STEM projects, as well as teaching there.

Because Mexico and Texas are neighbors, their research together can help tackle challenges that they both face.
