A Virtual Conference
Educational organizations of all sizes are being challenged to find the silver bullet. The silver bullet for teaching and learning; the silver bullet for remediation; the silver bullet for budgets… Microsoft and the Center for Digital Education are partnering to host a virtual conference to address these issues, provide a new vision for teaching and learning and illustrate how that translates to the ultimate goal - student success.
The future is not modeled the same as the past. Technology by itself is not the silver bullet but combined with a solid model for teaching and learning, it becomes an indispensable tool to driving engagement and generating positive outcomes.
In this virtual conference, you will get the opportunity to hear from and connect real-time with industry experts and fellow educators, as well as obtain practical examples and real advice to help you understand what pressures exist for educators and what can be done to solve them. In addition, you will gain access to resources and tools to help you drive student success and further your professional development.
This virtual conference is available for on-demand viewing to registered attendees after the event.

Leilani Cauthen, VP and Publisher, Center for Digital Education
The design economy is a term you will hear more frequently. It is based on the concept that technology is transforming all areas of society and that you will have the ability to creatively design everything to your exact specifications and have it delivered to your door - dinner; clothing; cars and even education. This gives rise to new organizational models, changes to curriculum/content and impacts budgets and professional development. This keynote will highlight the design economy, explore the frontiers of education and provide you a glimpse of the new normal.

Device Selection and Integration Challenges: Solutions for Student Success (Administrator Track)
Cameron Evans, National Technology Officer and CTO, Microsoft Education
Leilani Cauthen, VP and Publisher, Center for Digital Education
Schools are consuming new computing devices at a pace faster than ever before. This creates great challenges not only due to the fact that devices designed for the consumer are not always the best for faculty, staff and students but also in that there needs to be a model in place to effectively use the devices to improve teaching and learning. A complete understanding of the learning environment including classroom, school, district and state requirements for functionality must be known before you buy. In addition, organizations must pay attention to the realities of device lifecycle for these consumer based products. This session will provide an update on best practices for device selection as well as for successfully integrating devices and how to evaluate based on intended use, existing curriculum agreements, support costs, security and more.
