The Center for Digital Education hosted a Market Briefing event in Portland, OR.
IT leaders from Oregon school districts were on hand for a special briefing on their technology plans for the coming years.
Portland Public Schools has over 47,000 students and is working to provide quality educational services to its diverse community and prepare its students for success in the 21st century. With over 21,000 students, Hillsboro School District is working to advance the use of technology in its classrooms and create an open access environment in all of its buildings. Sherwood School District also has over 5,000 students and is committed to technology use both in and out of the classroom, as well as sustaining continually evolving and expanding technological innovations. Newberg School District has over 5,000 students and is working to provide those students with the knowledge and skills needed to be successful, contributing citizens of the 21st century.
The participants were briefed the audience on district plans in a variety of topic areas, including computing infrastructure, mobile devices, digital content, professional development, cyber security and their plans to incorporate blended learning models.
